Trailer Bearing info
« on: August 11, 2016, 11:27:09 PM »

Maybe this will save some headaches when you guys have to replace trailer wheel bearings, since most part stores can't look them up.  :dweeb:

5 lug 3500LB axles, most, (every one I have ever worked on) use these same bearings
L68149 bearing and L68111 bearing race, big inner bearing, A7 bearing set includes both
L44649 bearing and L44610 bearing race, small outer bearing, A4 bearing set includes both
There are 2 different seals, the difference being 1/32" inner diameter, 470361 and 470460 will work for the small 1.68"  (1 11/16") spindle
(Honestly either seal would probably be fine on either spindle)
Napa 7304458 is a kit that contains all the bearings, races, both seals, dust cap and cotter pin.  This is the best, easiest, cheapest, way to go.
Any parts store should carry these or be able to cross reference them.

These are probably the most common tandem axles under car hauler trailers, and I know several of us have these under our trailers.
Just have to remember this post when one of us is stuck on the side of the road and has to get all this stuff.  :kickrock:
